Choosing paint colors isn't easy.
Most of us were never taught how colors work together, how lighting affects them, or how to confidently narrow thousands of options into just a few that feel right.
That's where Steve comes in.

Steve began his career more than 33 years ago as an apprentice painter for a local paint contractor. Six years later, he joined the Motion Picture Painters Union, where he spent the next 27 years working in an industry where color had to be right, and it had to be right quickly.

One of the most valuable skills Steve learned from his mentors was how to match colors by hand using only white paint and a tint rack with just 12 highly concentrated colors. That experience sharpened his eye for color, trained him to recognize subtle variations, and taught him how colors, finishes, and lighting work together long before a paintbrush ever touched the wall.
Throughout his career, Steve noticed the same challenge again and again. Customers—and even professional set designers—often struggled with choosing colors for rooms and sets. Not because there weren't enough beautiful options, but because narrowing them down felt overwhelming.
