Frequently Asked Questions
Traditional paint stores give you thousands of individual color options and expect you to figure out what works together. And while those beautifully photographed brochures can be inspiring, they often showcase professionally designed spaces that don't necessarily reflect your home, your lifestyle, or the way you want your space to feel.My Color Vibe takes a different approach. We start with how you want to feel in your space and offer professionally curated color families designed to work beautifully together in real homes and spaces. The result is a simpler, more intentional way to choose colors with confidence.
Each peel-and-stick paint sample set includes a professionally curated color family featuring:• A main color to establish the overall mood of the space• A secondary color for depth and balance• An accent color to bring everything together These combinations are thoughtfully arranged using the 60-30-10 design principle to create a cohesive, balanced look.
The 60-30-10 rule is a timeless design guideline used to create balanced, harmonious spaces.• 60%: Your dominant color, typically used on the walls • 30%: A secondary color that adds depth and support • 10%: An accent color that provides interest and personality Each My Color Vibe collection is designed with this principle in mind, making it easier to create a space that feels cohesive and intentional.
Traditional paint samples can quickly become expensive, time-consuming, and messy. You have to buy sample pots, paint directly onto your walls, wait for them to dry, and often repaint over them when you're ready to move on.Peel-and-stick samples offer a cleaner, faster, commitment-free alternative. You can:Move them around your homeCompare multiple color families side by sideSee how they change throughout the dayRemove them without painting, sanding, or touching up your wallsThere's no mess, no wasted paint, and no commitment—just an easy way to experience color in your own home before making a final decision.Because the right color isn't just chosen—it's experienced.
Not always.Digital screens display color differently depending on brightness settings, device types, and lighting conditions. That's why we recommend experiencing your peel-and-stick samples in your own home for a few days before making a final decision. Seeing colors in your actual space is the best way to understand how they'll truly look and feel.
Not at all. Many people find exactly what they're looking for right away and order a single color family. Others choose two or three collections to compare side by side in their own home before making a final decision. There's no right or wrong approach. The goal is simply to help you choose with confidence.
You can, but we recommend doing so thoughtfully. Each My Color Vibe collection is intentionally curated to work together as a complete color family. Mixing colors from different collections can sometimes create imbalance, especially when combining warm and cool tones. If you choose to customize your selections, we recommend keeping warm colors with warm colors and cool colors with cool colors whenever possible. And if you're torn between two options, trust your first reaction. The colors you're naturally drawn to often tell you more than you think.
Each color family is identified as either warm or cool to help guide your decision-making.Warm colors tend to feel cozy, inviting, and energizing, while cool colors often feel calming, fresh, and restorative.Understanding whether you're drawn to warm or cool palettes can make choosing colors much simpler.
The sheen (or finish) you choose affects how your paint looks, how durable it is, and how easy it is to clean. As a general guideline:Flat or Matte – A soft, non-reflective finish that's great for ceilings, bedrooms, and other low-traffic areas. It touches up easily but can be more difficult to clean without leaving marks.Eggshell – One of the most popular choices for living rooms, dining rooms, and bedrooms. It has a subtle, low-luster finish and is easier to spot clean than flat or matte paint.Satin – A durable finish that works well in hallways, kitchens, bathrooms, and children's rooms. Its slight sheen helps repel moisture and makes everyday cleaning easier.Semi-Gloss – A smooth, durable finish commonly used on trim, doors, cabinets, and other high-touch surfaces. It resists moisture well and stands up to frequent cleaning.Your local paint retailer can also help you determine the best sheen for your project, recommend the amount of paint you'll need, and answer any questions before you purchase.
